1972 7.5hp mercury loses pressure

I have a '72 mercury 7.5hp outboard that runs good, but it seems to lose gas pressure. It runs great if I pump the primer ball?

Welcome to iboats.

That could be a weak fuel pump, but it might also be some restriction in the fuel supply like pinched , twisted or restricted line, bad pickup in the tank, restricted vent in tank or even air leaks at the fuel line connectors.

Check out the fuel supply first. It is quick and easy to repair.

i was also wondering what the correct oil mix ratio is.
