This is our 3rd summer with this engine and have never had a problem. Took her out for the first time this year and everything ran great. A week later went out again and was running up to about 3500 rpms and the alarm came on and of course caused the motor to cut back. Had changed the oil before the first time out so rechecked that - everything is fine. The "pee" is coming out the back so water is moving through the engine. Had installed a new battery charging system and the terminals on the old battery were a bit corroded so cleaned those up and disconnected the new charger to make sure it wasn't being overcharged. No effect. Once you get up around 75% power - beep, beep and bye bye power. Could it be the coolant alarm? Any way to check that this is working properly? Possible fuel problem? Gas in boat is new and no issue at low speeds. Any ideas? Meanwhile, we're just puttering along at headway speed and runs smooth as silk.
