Hay Guys, thanks for your help and support. I find your site very helpfull. My experience with this engine is zero. Where are the locations of the water pump, carburator, fuel pump, shaft/gear and air filter for an old 3 cylinder Mercury 90hp.

You are really in need of a manual.

Re: Old Mercury 90hp Components locations

Water pump = in the lower unit.
Lower Unit = below the power head
Power Head = On top of the lower unit (called the engine)
Carburetor(s) = under the hood looking at you when in the boat
Air filter = doesn't have one (not much dust on the lake)
Shaft = inside the power head (called a crank shaft)
Shaft = inside the leg (called a drive shaft)
Shaft = Inside the lower unit gear case (called the prop shaft)
Gears = Inside the lower unit gear case
Gear Case = the lowest part of the engine
Service Manual = what you need
