I just looked at a 35 merc that the owner said would run but it appears to be locked in drive. I saw where the shifter lever was broken (as if someone tried to forse it) and also where part of the shift control on the engine had been messed with(bolts loose and missing) . I didnt buy it but told him I would check and try to find out more about what might be the issue . Shift cable is missing also. Any ideas would be appreciated Im guessing the gears in the foot are broken or jamed? .Never did hear it run Thanks
