I just picked up a 16 ft Slyvan Boat, 1957 35 Hp Lark Evinrude and trailer.

I bought this boat, motor and trailer at auction for $500.00.:D

I mixed up some gas (24:1) and fired her up. I had the leg in barrel of water but was not getting any water flow for cooling. So I pulled the L.U and found that previous owner had replaced impeller but when putting lower unit back on they folded over one of the rubber seals for water intake/outlet tubes. I was able to fix that. After re-installing the L.U and test running it was cooling fine. Motor also ran very well...:D

Next step...

Gear case is taking on water. I purchased a seal kit and started to change out seals.

The propshaft seals proved to be too much for me. The kit only came with 1 propshaft seal but there were 2 installed in the housing? Anyways the first one came out relatively easy....but the second one I messed up. I broke the thin lip of the seal housing...

Trouble is now I cannot seem to find a replacement?

I dont have a manual so does anyone know if the propshaft has 2 oil seals or 1?

Anyone know where to find propshaft seal housing?

Thanx in advance...

My manual for a 1956 30 hp, which I believe shares the same gearcase shows only one seal.
