I own a 2003 rinker with a 5.0 mpi bravo 3. This year i am having 3 concerns first a 2 beep warning which was computer tested and came up with 2 codes first code an IAC code in memory. tested IAC working fine. second low cooling flow on the rear cooling line sensor tested flow and eng temp 153 deg beeping still here. i dont know if he really removed the codes but i am still having the alarm. now new concern my lower drive gear oil is when i am running at full throttle overflowing out of the resovir bottle. and the engine now at full throttle feels like its holding back cant get it over 4000 rpm and 40 mph. after sitting the fluid level goes below the add mark and i refill it same thing happens. I just changed the fluid and flushed the system after this problem aside from being a little dirty the fluid looked good. what do i do. i have had a shop look at and they say its fine. i dont think so. oh the boat is in fresh water not salt water.

What is your engine serial number, Merc doesn't do anything by year, only SN, and you just never know where a SN break will be.

As far as your drive goes, I have had customers have the same problem, in a short time all the drives self destructed.
If I were you, I would have the drive dissassembled and inspected. Especailly the bearings. The drive is getting very hot inside, that is why the gear lube is expanding.

I just removed the rear drive had it inspected the shop said all bearings are good and it holds great pressure. I also changed the lower water pump impeller for my engine code old one was curved but weak lets see if this does the trick. do i have to clear the computer codes again.
