add a temp gauge

i just got my 2005 trophy with a 115 hp 4 stroke merc...theres no temp gauge does any oneone know how i could go about adding one...are the wires already in the helm or would i have to start from the motor

You need to start at both ends. The engine needs a temp sender compatible with the gauge. The gauge needs +12V, Gnd, +12V from the Nav lights, and the Send line from the the sender. Get the sender with the gauge so they are compatible. You might want to consider Oil Pressure and Water pressure gauges as well. You will then have things covered.

good point bout the water and oil gauges..i thought the motor may have already had the sensors on it but trophy was to cheap to insatll the gauges..so your saying i need to install the sensors on the motor....
