Hi Everyone

Im New To Boating So Excuse My Ignorance:) I Have A 1984 70hp Johnson Motor That I Bought Last Year (very Clean.) When Tilting The Motor Out Of The Water I Would See Two Streams Of Water Draining On Either Side Of Lower Unit. I Just Put Boat In Last Week And When Tilting Up Motor Out Of Water I Noticed Water Draining From The Backside (opposite Side Of Prop) Where Lower Unit Meets Upper Unit In Addition To Sides. I Dont Recall Seeing This Last Year. Does Anyone Know If This Is Normal Or Do I Have A Major Problem? The Stream Of Water Is Round And Looks Like Its Suppose To Be There But Its Odd That I Never Noticed Last Year So Hopefully Im Just Being Paranoid. Engine Running Great But Dont Want To Start it AgAIN Until I Know This Thanks For Your Help...

What Tashadaddy means is that you're being overly paranoid and that it's a normal condition.

Strange tricks the mind can play !!! Better to ask and be told that than not ask and have issues with the motor.

Re: Johnson/info

If the holes were not there, water could be trapped in the lower unit and freeze in cold climates. The drains are a good thing..
