98 150efi idle speed ?

does anyone know the correct idle speed for a 1998 150ef - it is 1200 rpm but seems high to me and clunks pretty good when put in gear

any outboard, should idle in gear in the water, 650-800. at 1200 you are going to take out the lower unit. the shift should also be a quick deliberate shift. not the old fashion, lets listen to the gears mesh.

would the ilde spec be the same for neutral- and how do I lower the idle?
