I have a 3.3 mercury outboard on my tender that will not engage in gear. It has forward only and the gear selector is part of the engine so it is not a problem with any remote equipment. The last time I went to use it made a grinding noise going from neutral to forward. The engine is about 3 years old. Any suggestions?
