Hello all, i'm new to the site and very impressed with the info here!

I am buying a 1999 Cape Horn 19 powerd with a 1999 Mercury 150 XL Off shore. What an amazing find! After searching the 19-20 foot used bay boat market for some time, i was blown away by this boats quality and size!

I would like to hear from anyone who owns or has owned one and, what you think about it? Any info or advice would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks, Brad

Re: Info on Cape Horn 19

Cape Horn boats are no frills but are built like a tank. I have been told Cape Horn made changes to the 19 footer in 2006 which gave it more gunnell height which makes it much drier. It is 8'6" wide and very big and roomy for a 19 footer. I have never heard anything but praise for the new 19 and 21 footer. They are heavy ships and are not cheap! The 19 is heavy and needs at least a 140 but still, it's built like a tank. The older 19's were great but WET.Think safety please!

p.s.---- on the used market you may want to consider an Aquasport Explorer (23' and 25'). Many people swear by them and I hear they are great to fish from.
