1989 Johnson 60 Problems

Just got my 60hp re-ringed, etc. Broke it in and it ran fine one day. The next day it would not stay running and has no power. Any help is appreciated.

I am not an iboats expert, but have a 60 hp, and have laryngitis and just sitting here, so....<br /><br />engines need 3 major things. ALWAYS check these first. Help comes after these three basics are known.<br /><br />compression - do a compression test, each cylinder.<br />spark - do you have it? each cylinder<br />fuel - worry about that later after the other two easier questions are answered first.

H_lankford is right. I'd check compression ASAP .. if you JUST got it out of the shop, there will be some warranty. If you have compression, spark is next.
