I have been given a 1965 evinrude 9.5hp. It would not turn over I discovered the lower gears had no oil left. I now have everything spinning I still have more cleaning to do. My question is first how can I tell if the gears, shaft or bearings are not serviceable. Second I opened it up at the prop. I have been unable to separate the lower unit from the upper unit. Is there a trick to it?<br /><br />Thanks for your help.
