Power tilt rams for 67 Evinrude V4 60HP

I don't have a power tilt on it but now that pretty much everything else is sorted out that'd be a nice final step. <br /><br />Even if I can't get the right tilt motor I reckon I can make an adaptor plate to fit a foreigner.<br /><br />The problem is the ram(s) - I'm not sure if mine had one or two.<br /><br />The dampers on it might be able to be adapted as rams but I expect there'd be difficulties in getting suitable seals etc to hold the pressure.<br /><br />Anybody got any suggestions on what I could use as rams? (Yeah, I know, a couple of entire male sheep.)

Those old V-4s never had any kind of power trim. I'm not sure the design of the gearcase or prop would make one all that meaningful. Your only option woud be one of those aftermarket tilt brackets, but I really think you'd be disappointed with the results.

Willy B Wright<br /><br />Thanks.<br /><br />I'm not looking for a trim, just a tilt. <br /><br />It's a nuisance having to run to the back of the boat to haul it up when I'm coming in to a beach or ramp single-handed. I'd like to approach them in the last few yards facing forward for a change, not to mention being able to steer as well. Or I can just leave it down and suck up sand or ground it. Also it's a very heavy motor to haul up by hand, and I ain't getting any younger or stronger.<br /><br />The bracket has three holes on the starboard side that look like they're for a tilt motor, so I figure I can fit something there either direct or with an adaptor plate.
