    Default Install pedestal seat

I am replacing the captain's pedestal with a taller one. Before I head out to the storage barn I want to be prepared...how are the pedestals attached, screws, bolts, etc?

Is it as simple as unscrewing the old one and screwing the new one in place?

The underside of the deck is covered with aluminum so I cannot see or access the floor from underneath.

    Thanks!

they are either bolted or screwed, seeing you can not get access to the under side, order as many of these as you need, for your pedestal. this is proper installation hardware.

When I re-do my carpeting I remove mine, in my case it was as simple as unscrewing the old one and screwing the new one in place. I own a Glastron Bowrider. I do not change mine but Ii think that is the same technique.

I was thinking about the possibility of bolts and nuts, because I cannot get to the underside of the deck, even if I can get the bolts out, the nuts and washers will probably end up trapped between the deck and the aluminum sheet underneath and rattle me crazy.....

use a hole saw and make access holes then fabricate a cover to place over the spot with stainless screws so you can remove it in the future,, just need a aluminum plate for an access cover
