For a mist of water to spray out of the upper 2 ports does the motor have to be moving thru water or should I see water mist out in a testing barrell? Does anyone know how much trouble it will be to replace the impeller?

The motor has a pump and water should mist out.Just be sure it is deep enough in the water.It appears to be a straight forward repair the impeller is just above the anti ventilation plate. but you should work with service manual.I think aftermarket manuals are available right here on iboats.I got mine on ebay for about $15.Really a must for any motor repair.

I belive since it is air cooled it only pumps when in gear.
