This is an old Seaking I picked up some time ago, the coil has had it and it has no front cover, also need a new prop.
Its a bit of a wreck, but the main problem I have with it is, other than the Seaking on the tank, I don't know what it is, I have seen a Viking that looks like it, but still have no info on HP or rough year.
I think parts are going to be a problem as I'm in the UK, so is it worth a go?
It was made by Evinrude, 1946-ish. I can't tell by the picture which one it is. I guess you don't know the model #?
It is an antique and you won't find parts just anywhere, not even here in U.S. Give it the respect an antique deserves. If you don't want to mess with it, give it to somebody that does. BTW, "antique" doesn't necessarily mean "priceless".
Unlike some others that want to make a fast buck, I now have a collection of ten antique outboards dating from 1945 to the 1960's, all but one of which I have restored and are in running order and are sometimes used, as I would rather see an outboard restored and used than parted out for spares.
