Default Screw hole in OMC Cobra Outdrive

1988 Wellcraft 4.3 with Cobra outdrive and if Im standing at back of boat on left side on upper side there is a screw hole with a rubber grommet in it. I noticed it was little wet after sitting all night and when I turned it with screw driver it just spun and popped out with a little water draining out of inside. Now screw will not screw back into anything inside.

Ayuh,.... That is OMC's Majic screw,...

Take it Out, 'n then you need to drop the lower unit to put it Back....
It does Nothing,...But you can't run without it....

So I did some further research and discovered this is a common issue as the Cobra Emblem had fallen off and many mistake this for a drain plug. The next question is do I have pull the out drive out to pull the piece floating around in there or can i get a replacement nut that holds screw on.

Thanks to all-- I was able to fish out a piece or rectangular plastic but im guessing this is only the part of it. I just got my whole unit serviced and out of disposable income for a few weeks. How easy is it to drop lower unit to look for rest of pieces?

Same thing happened to me a couple years ago. Not sure how much trouble it will be to remove drive. We replaced boat after gears were sheared shortly after my mechanic fished the piece out. Don't know if it was related, but cheaper insurance to look for any other parts than to replace drive. I'll never own another OMC again!
