1987 0mc cobra starving

my 2.3 omc engine seems to want to stall usuallyafter warming up no exact pattern i can be runninghigh speed or medium throttle engine starts surginglike running out of fuel i can start pumping the trottle to bring it back to life,engine also onoccasion has a slight surge at low speed with a steady throttle.engine does not really miss. any suggestions ED

If it's starving for fuel check your fuel tank vent line, if the vent is plugged or the vent line is kinked then air can't get into the tank you will create a vacumn that the fuel pump won't be able to overcome. A quick way to check is next time it happens undo your fuel filler cap and if you hear air or if the engine picks up then that's your problem.
