    Default Proper break-in procedure?

    Hi,

    i've just rebuilt (0.020 oversize) my engine (Merc '91 60hp 3 cyl. 2 strokes) and i had a few questions regarding the break-in procedure (i have the factory service manual but it is vague on this point).

    I know i had to use good quality oil (Quicksilver Premium) and put it at 50:1 in the tank (10 gal.) to double the oil and vary the throttle while staying under 3000 rpm, but I searched a bit and some says to use regular 87 octane gasoline while others says 89 or even 91 for this period. On some place, they say to ley it idle for the first few hours (neutral or in gears?), while some other say to don't let it idle for too long...

    So, can you please tell me what's the best procedure to ensure a good break-in so the rings will seat well and i'll keep a good compression?
