Long or Extra Long shaft outboard?
My transom height is 23 inches. What is my best choice for an outboard, Long or extra long shaft? We're talking 135HP.

Are you measuring along the transom or straight down vertical?

since most motors have extra sets of holes to raise the motor, id go with the extra long shaft . many guys say that they end up as high as the possible before cavitation, which is usually at least an inch above the bottom of the hull..
this way you can hang below the bottom and can move up from there...just make sure the 25 " motor has at least 3: of hole adjustment...

Thanks guys. I'm measuring straight down vertical! I've been told that I may want to consider a jack plate. if I go with XL long shaft
