Pull the cover off and look at the back of the engine. In what looks like a freeze plug near the top, your engine code should be there...mine is 225TXCUB....'87 225 hp 'rude......I wish it ran....LOL

I have a similar problem. I just bought an 88 spl evinrude and cannot make out all the numbers on the motor mount and the numbers on top are g 3648893. ive tried to seach for a match with no success.
