Has anybody ever converted from the choke system on any of these old johnsons to the primer system? I want a easier start and would want to know if this would bring it up to par. It starts fine but just not as quickly as I would like.
I don't want to steal your thread OpK but I have a related question for Dhadley. Can I exchange the intake manifold and related primer system parts from '82 140hp rude to my current '79 100hp rude? Chief Chief
Port Charlotte FL but never the same since hurricane Charlie

Re: Choke to Primer Conversion Johnson 135 1973
There's no kit and you really dont need to change manifolds. The primer goes where the choke solenoid is now. Then you decide if you want to inject gas in the by-pass covers or in the intake passages right behind the carb.
Bought a primer for the 115 off ebay:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWN%3AITAny advice/instructions for the install? I would like to install into the bypass cover. guessing that would give the better result>?
