15 HP Johnson Year ?

Trying to find out the year of this 15 HP Johnson motor. Part of the serial # is gone. This is what I have E9982 and I can't read the rest. The model #is 15E748. Can anybody help. thanks

I would think your motor is a 1974 and the last digit is an S, not an 8!!
