Default What is plug gap for old (pre-1979?) 9.9 HP Mercury

I have an old (I believe it is pre-1979) Mercury outboard that is a 9.9 HP using NGK B7S spark plugs. The color of the motor is white.
What is the correct spark plug gap for this motor and plug?
How do I determine the date of manufacture?
    Thanks.
