trim limit switch

I have a 1984 mercury 150 black max,the up trim button on the throttle will not work, motor will not trim up.The trim buttons on the bow and stern both go up and down, Where is the trim limit switch located? Thanks for any help you can give. Woodchuck

Which tilt n trim unit is this? Some don't have one and rely on hydraulic pressure limits to stop the travel out under load.

At any rate, the auxiliary switches in the boat are probably spliced into the control harness. Some I've seen use idc connectors (scotchlock, for instance) that expose the conductors to atmosphere, and in time they will rot and break off.

The trouble is either in the up switch itself or in the wiring from that to the common point, probably at the above mentioned splice. It wouldn't be a fuse if the down switch in the handle works. A limit switch would be common to all.
