Hello, I recently got a Sea Ray 160 1989 with the original 100hp mercury outboard engine.
It has a tendency to lose power and drop down in rpms. Cold or warm engine doesn't change the pattern. Suspect a faulty gas intake, or something wrong in the gas lines.
Is this a typical issue with this type of engines? Is there a practical way to clean the gas pipes and lines without damaging anything? Do I need to use any special additive in the gas? Thanks for your help.
