Rigging on a new 2002 150KL Optimax

I just bought a brand new leftover 2002 150 XL Mercury Optimax. I have a question about the rigging. I know what all of the hoses are except for one. Even the installation manual doesen't mention this one.

It is on the port side of the motor just ahead of the spin on fuel filter. It's on the top of the aluminum fuel injection pump? I think that's what the big aluminum unit is??? It had a brass 90 degree pipe to hose barb fitting. Attached to the fitting is a approx. 5" 3/8" black hose. At the end of the hose in a 3/8" back plastic hose barb.

Does anyone know what this line is for?
