Default ((No Spark)) 2006 40 HP Mercury 4 Stroke

My 40 Mercury ran about twenty feet then refused to start on my last outing. It had run perfect until then.

Put new plugs in it and checked. Very weak to no spark while pulling rope with one plug out against block.

    What could it be?

Boat shop said it would be at least a month before they could look at it. That would take me out for the whole summer.

Can anybody give me a link to a trouble shooting page?

Checked all three plugs today. I have a very weak spark on bottom two cylinders with none on the top. I unplugged the powerpack and reconnected. Then checked all wires connections......nothing.

I`m thinking the power pack has gone out. Gonna try some more tomorrow.

Still need links for help if ya`ll got any.

I would look at the stator under the flywheel and the coil packs.

Im not quite sure how to test those components, I just know what their function is...I am actually in the process of replacing the stator and coils on my 7.5HP Merc.
Im sure someone will chime in on how to test it.
