Default mercury brown band wiring problem

I bought this outboard about 3 months ago. It is a brownband 75hp 4 cylinder. the serial number is 66138009. however, it is definatly not wired correctly. It has a aftermarket 6 prong off/run/ push in to choke key starter. On the C terminal, there should be a choke solenoid wire, on mine, there is nothing connected to it, on the A terminal, it is for accesories, mine has nothing, on the M terminal (to the right on key switch) is a white wire that converts to a black w/ green stripe separate from the wire harness connected to the 3rd terminal up on the left side of the powerpack. (board with all the prongs on OB) On the B terminal, there is a purple wire that converts to a red wire that connects to pos (+) on start solenoid. On the M terminal ( the one on the bottom of the key start) is a blue wire w/ white stripe not connected to anything ( just hanging off in the stern coiled up). On the S terminal there is a yellow w/ black stripe that converts to a yellow w/ red stripe that leads to the negative (-) on the start solenoid.

now, I want electric choke so, with that being said the choke solenoid attaches to the C terminal on the key start. however, there is no wire attached to it right now. The solenoid is a yellow w/ black stripe that appears to lead to the solenoid to the left of the powerpack. there are 3 snipped wires, a black, and 2 black w/ yellow stripes. the other terminals have 2 tans, and a grey. There is a black w/ green wire that is attached to one post and the other side just hanging off the side. there appears to be a hole where that mounts to.

Can i directly lead the solenoid wire with another wire that have been clamped together and connect it to the C terminal on the key start?

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT!!! THANKS
