Mercury 110 9.8 hp gas/oil mixture ratio!

Can anyone tell me what the fuel/oil ratio is for a mercury 110 9.8hp outboard motor? it is a 1972 model.

16oz per 6 gallon tank
8oz per 3 gallon tank

same,50:1 but if ya want to add a bit extra that "ll be ok too....try 3 oz. to gallon

I have a 1979 9.8 mercury,is the fuel/oil ratio 50-1 also? I was told the mixture could be 40-1 because of the newer fuels today,but I'm not sure??

50:1 is fine

40:1 is also good as long as plug fouling doesn't become an issue.

thank god for the perma gap plugs, they dont seem to foul as much as the plugs with the arm
