I have this wiring diagram and seems straightforward...but I have no idea what the symbol, I've marked in red, is? Is it just a stray mark or something pertinent?

it's a wire junction

Laddies, I always appreciate your fast responses....A junction? Ok. Now, I guess I'm not seeing where wires come together. Further back on the salmon colored wire, there IS a split or splice. Could this be the junction you are referring to? Maybe the symbol was put in the wrong place?? I'm still not following you 100%.
Or would it be the block...wait...duh. The junction block where everything comes together near the switch box, huh?
It's shown that way because the tilt switch is not a permanent part of the harness and can be removed and replaced separately, the joint is probably the wire splice your talking about I believe the originally it was a junction block with a screw in it as shown.

Thank you, Laddies.
