bad idle on 9.9 2006 Mercury 4 stroke

My 9.9 4 stroke Mercury 2006 runs great with the choke out, when I press the choke in, she stutters and dies. I have taken the carb off, sprayed carb cleaner, and reassembled. It is still doing the same thing. Any ideas as to what might be my problem and how I might be able to fix it?

Does anyone have a schematic of the carb showing which is the low speed jet? I have a feeling that the jet is clogged. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Ross, same engine as the Tohatsu and Nissan if you can find something at the library. Post over on the Tohatsu board the GURU will help you out.

Hi, Did you ever figure this out ? I have 15 hp with the same problem.
New fuel pump and cleaned carb and put a rebuild kit in it.
Something tells me the carb is still dirty. has any one else had this problem?
