My enging number is A914000 and it is idicated as a 1986 Merc 200 HP.
From the controls:
Four thinner wires- Brown-Purp0le-Black-Green
From the trim motor:
Three thicker wires- Green-Blue-Black
Here is a picture of where the wires should go, I just do not know how to wire this up.
you should have 2 solonoids for the trim can you post a larger picture?

That's whats srtange, only looks like one solonoid, copared to your two and others I have seen.
The enging mumbers do indicate 86 merc 200 HO extra long shaft. This was Mike Avilas off shore race boat and had twin mercs in the 80's.

No, ONE solenoid and trim is on controls up front. We by passed and the trim works! Step one.
Now I know that the power head was replaced and may not be what the tag on the mount indicates, 86 200 hp.
Someone said there is another serial number "behind" the flywheel? Where?

It would be on top of the block right behind the flywheel it's about the diameter of a quarter right above #2 cylinder.
that solonoid you see is your starting solonid..is there any others? if possible could you get a little bit bigger picture..as well if you need a replacement intake tube( i noticed yours are broken) i have a couple of them
