Default '72 Merc 4hp single cyl. stator?

Need a stator for above motor.Does anyone know why this motor would go through them? I've put in two in five years.

Welcome to iboats.New stators or used? Age is as much a factor as wear and tear in older parts. Even if they've been sitting on a shelf for that long. Mostly, leaks develop between the aging and shrinking potting and the metal. Then it corrodes inside when moisture invades.
Hey, Have you seen? They make Really Cool life preservers nowadays.
So "Looking Dorky" is no longer an excuse for not wearing one.
