    Default 50 hp mercury outboard 500 friend put in water pump now its stuck in gear

    I need help
    My buddy put in water pump now its stuck in gear.
    How do I fix it. its a 50 hp mercury 500 1970's

    You have to drop the lower put it in N and same on shift lever and reinstall making sure the water tube gets inserted into the pump housing.
    When will people learn that impellers require regular
    replacement and are not drive it till it pukes items?

    How do you put it in neutral once you take the bottom off.Sorry but I'm a new at this.
