Default 2006 Mercury 40hp EFI hot stalling

I have an 06 40hp Mercury 4 stroke EFI motor on my pontoon. It runs fine cold but then begins to chug, lose power and finally stall. It usually is also hard to restart after it stalls.
It used to be an intermittant and now is very regular.
    Any idea's, known problems???
