I have a 2006 Mercury 4-stroke 60 HP Bigfoot that I bought brand new out of the box last summer (2008). Ran like a champ all summer last year. The boat sat through the winter up to now. Long story but, nothing was done before storage. So, it hasn't been ran in almost a year. It will crank now but, has a tough time idling. I can pull up the cold start lever and it will idle up perfect for 30 seconds or so and then shut off. Cranks right back up. Maybe even idles for a minute on it's own, then shuts off. I can prolong how long the engine runs with the cold start lever but, it has a problem staying running or idling. There were probably a few gallons of old gas left in the tank when stored. I put about 4 gallons of new gas in there when I started this effort. Injector problems? Water in the fuel? Low pressure or high pressure pump problems?
