2002 250 merc efi problems

Hi I am new to the forum. Thank you in advance for your help! I have a pair of 250 efi motors on my boat with 500 hrs. The problem i am having is when i jump on plane the port motor runs for 2 to 3 min and cuts off. rebuilt fuel filter, changed raycors and engine filters. even swaped connections at the tank with no results. fuel lines seem to be in good shape . Can anybody explain how the pulse fuel pump works?>

I was fishing with a guy in a tournament and he was having the same problem....we got back to the launch and had the Ranger support mechanics check it out. The oil reservior under the cowling was slightly low which will make the motor drop to half RPMs and eventually shut down..... We added two cycle oil to this reservior and never had anymore trouble. All oil reservior caps must be tight to keep levels up.......
