1998 Mercury 115 - RPM Problem

My Mercury motor will not perform over 4,000 rpm. Could it be one of my CDM modules? Great site. Thank you!

washedashore, First determine whether you are getting fire to all cylinders.

Swap coil from known firing cylinder and see if it fires.

will give it atry tomorrow .hoping thats the problem thanks for your help.as a rookie boater this site sure help out alot.
