1997 3cyl 75hp mercury runs 10 secs shuts off?????

A friend got this boat and doesnt know much about it...

Engine will start and idle
Engine will rev up with throttle
Engine after running for approx 5-10 seconds will completly shut off, if you turn key off and on it will immediatly start back and repeat. Not out of gas bulb stays tight and carbs full of fuel.

unhooked overtemp wire acts the exact same way
unhooked and jumpered wires together that go to oil tank sensor acts same way
Seems electrical it will idle or you can have it at 3000 rpm and when it shuts off its like you turned it off ie no ign . Not a slow quit but immediate.

Thank you this is my first post. I am a mechanical problem but as far as boat motors I can tell its got gas,oil spark,and two stroke oil. Compression ect. The boat has been sitting two years. new gas ect. doesnt act like fuel pump because carbs stay full and it is an immediate shut off and fuel bulb stays hard.
