Hello:

I am new to the postings, but I have an issue I'd like to discuss. I have a 1997 Mercury 135 hp that stalls when taking off from a standing stop. I have found that if I choke it until it just about stalls, then give it the gas it will take off. I've had it to the shop on two different occasions trying to work on the issue, and they've now given up. He did several things including checking and replacing most of the fuel line and primer bulb, rebuild the carburators, and rebuild the dash (thinking that there may be an electrical short in the ingnition). Does anyone have any thoughts as to what could be happening here?

The stalling out makes pulling a skier difficult.
