Default 1995 Mercury 40hp Oil and Water from prop area

I ran the boat in a fresh water lake last week and the next day I noticed brown oil coming from the prop housing where the nut is. It's obvious that it's oil and water, but why and where is this coming from? What should I do?

This is exhaust residue, unburned fuel mix, and cooling water. Its normal.
    Do nothing.

think of the midsection as just like your house chimney - after so many years it builds up soot and after a while it starts to let loose...no problem there
