1983 50 HP Merury throttle cable ????

My throttle cable is bad on my '83 50 hp merc quicksivler, I looked on the cable and there is a # 13040*, * being something I can't make out. That is all I can find on the cable. Does anyone know what cable or where for me to search for one? thanks

Teleflex makes them. They should be pretty easy to identify. The number on the cable usually has length included. You need to know the length, and then buy the standard merc cable of that length.
