    Default 1981 mercury 80 hp wont start

    hey, i just acquired a 16' boat with a 1981 mercury 80 hp on it. when i hooked a battery to it and put some new gas in it, it would start to turn over but it wasnt getting fire. so i checked the spark plugs and the spark plug wires. neither one has anything going to it. what is the next place to check for power or where should i check and how for the problem. thank you

    That motor should have ADI ignition. Look on the CDI Electronics web site for a troubleshooting test for your ignition.
