1980 115 mercury power trim problem

i am having problem with the trim. the motor goes up so far and then stops. when going down , the pump motor runs til i take hand off button. the unit was low on fluid i filled it up[before it wuldnt go up] and now i got it to go up but it doesnt go up all the way.

i had the same problem with my 69 1250 and it was the pivot rod where the steering cable goes .youcan try disconnecting both pistons and manually lift up and down see if it gets harder to move at same point where the tilt motor stops also

steering cable is unhooked, but thanks for quick reply. i figured out what was wrong. just bought the boat,my first, on the side of the throttle there is a trailer button. i pushed it and it took motor al the way up.
