We just bought this boat, it has a 190 motor in it, I believe it is a ford motor, but we took it to the water yesterday and the engine runs great, but we could'nt move forward or backwards, the prop would not turn, Does anyone have any suggestions as to what this could possibly be,I would really appreciate it.
Just a quick little bit of more info, we looked at the prop while it was lifted up, and noticed where the prop meets the boat there is 2 wires under there that are pinched almost in half. Do these have anything to do with the propeller not turning, they look like they run down into the prop somewhere.
The first thing I would check is the lower unit lube. See if it has any, or if water has got in there and rusted it solid. Another thing I would check, is to make sure your prop hub is not spun. If not that, I would look at your shift cable.
hope this helps, Shawn

Not sure what out drive you have, but if it is electric shift those wires could very easly be the problem
