    Default 1974 Mercury 500 ?

    My motor accelerates fine when I take off ,when the motor is ran for a while and warms up my acceleration sputters What can cause this lack of accelration ?

    How is the temperature? When was the impeller last changed ? They tend to run poorly when overheated. Do you have a water pressure gauge or can you feel the pee'er temperature at high speed by hand ?
