1974 mercury 115 hp stator question

how many volts or amps should my stator be putting out ...i checked it yesterday at the two wires comming out and got 4.79 ...is that right...if not how do i check it and or check the rectifier.

Thats AC current on the stator so if you checked it with meter in DC mode thats about right and that stator is 7-9 amps at WOT,1-3 amps at idle....

thanks for the reply...the stator was bad and my friend rewound it at the shop he works at...so i was just wondering if the numbers were right

Odds are good he counted turns and measured gauge on the teardown, so if he wound it the same, it can't be any different.
