    Default 1973 20hp merc spark plug

    what is the correct spark plug for this outboard? i recently bought this outboard and it had the champion j6c in it but from what i know about older mercs they take champion L78V. so what is the correct plug?

    See plugs item 36 under FLYWHEEL, IGNITION COIL, STATOR AND SWITCH BOX(GROUP NO. 14)
